Alex Treece, a lifelong resident of Findlay, Ohio, is deeply rooted in the Hancock County community. He graduated from Van Buren High School in 1996 and went on to earn a B.S. in Communication from Ohio University. In 2005, Alex began his legal career after graduating from Cleveland State University College of Law. His early work as a Public Defender in Portage County, Ohio, laid the foundation for his return to Findlay in 2007, where he served as an Assistant Prosecutor for Hancock County for a decade, eventually becoming the Chief Assistant of the Criminal Division.
Today, Alex serves as a Public Defender for Hancock County, representing clients facing felony charges in the Court of Common Pleas. With nearly 20 years of courtroom experience, including jury trials and comprehensive legal processes, Alex has a well-rounded perspective, having worked as an Assistant Prosecutor, Private Attorney, and Assistant Public Defender.
Community Involvement
Alex is committed to giving back to his community. He is a Board Member of Welcome to a New Life, helping clients re-enter the workforce after incarceration. He also serves on the Board of Zoning Appeals for the City of Findlay and is a Past President of the Church Council at First Lutheran Church in Findlay. Additionally, Alex has contributed to the Board of Children’s Mentoring Connection.
Personal Life
Alex is also a proud co-owner of Findlay Brewing Company, a downtown Findlay business that employs 40 local community members. His hobbies include playing music—he enjoys singing, and playing the guitar and mandolin. The Treece family has deep ties to the Hancock County Fair, where they run The Cane Rack, the fair's longest-running attraction, for the past 75 years.
Alex has been married to his wife, Jennie, for 22 years, and they have two children, Phoebe and Steven, who attend Findlay City Schools. The Treece family lives in the south end of Findlay and embraces every aspect of the community.
